We're looking for a founding-level Head of L2 Engineering to lead the architecture, development, and deployment of our ZK-native Layer 2 infrastructure.You will own the end-to-end buildout of our EVM-compatible, privacy-preserving rollup, collaborating closely with our cryptography and product teams. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with zero-knowledge proofs and has shipped a production-grade rollup or zkEVM.Responsibilities
- Lead engineering for our Layer 2 platform—from protocol design to production deployment
- Architect and scale a performant, composable zkEVM-based L2 with privacy guarantees
- Build and mentor a global team across protocol, smart contracts, infrastructure, and full-stack development
- Collaborate with cryptography experts on zk circuit optimization, prover performance, and privacy features
- Make key decisions on sequencer design, data availability, rollup tooling, and bridging
- Partner with Product and BD to align roadmap and go-to-market execution
- Ensure secure integration of stablecoins, RWAs, and DeFi apps into the ledger
- Foster a culture of clarity, quality, security, and speed
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record delivering blockchain/L2/zkEVM products from inception to scale
- 15+ years in engineering, with 4+ years leading design and implementation of production blockchain or L2 infrastructure
- Expertise in zero-knowledge systems (e.g., STARKs, SNARKs, zkEVMs, Halo2, Plonky2, Cairo)
- Deep fluency in Ethereum, EVM execution, and rollup mechanics
- Strong technical leadership and team scaling experience
- Proficiency in Rust, Solidity, or zk circuit languages (e.g., Cairo, Circom, Noir)
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with cryptography, compliance, and business teams
- Ideally based in San Francisco, New York, or Switzerland; open to other locations for exceptional candidates

- Experience with stablecoins, privacy-preserving assets, or programmable wallets
- Familiarity with sequencing, MEV protection, and interoperability frameworks
- Contributions to open-source ZK tooling or rollup frameworks
